After 8 months, I finally had some Me time today.
I left B with my parents at about 10.15am this morning. I had prepared his lunch so that my mum could feed him and planned to pick him up again about 1pm plus.
I called my parents' place at 11am and my mum told me off in a rather loud, almost annoyed voice, "Everything is ok lah!" before I could even say anything! Grr. Caller ID. Hmmm. I was just checking! Afterall, I hadn't really been away from my son for long so perhaps some withdrawals should be permitted!
I called again at 1.30pm to say I was on my way to pick him up and my mum told me that he had just fallen asleep and my call woke him up. Sounds like I shouldn't be calling at all.
I asked my mum why he was asleep. I thought they would have played with him the entire time and wouldn't bear to let him go to sleep. At which my mum replied, "Eat already so sleep loh."
And just how did they managed to put him to bed? I was very curious. Apparently, E (my parents' helper) carried him for less than 5 mins and he was out. He did only nap for about 15 mins in the morning so he was probably really tired.
My parents put him on their bed and flanked him like human bedrails and just lay there quietly. Haha. I thought it was hilarious. He woke up and looked at my mum and then at my dad. Then he started crying. My mum whispered to my dad to keep still in hope that he would go back to sleep but he just kept crying. (My mum insists that he was looking for me.) So she finally picked him up and he stopped. And that was when I arrived.
Well, it was a good start I think. And we definitely need more practice. Yours truly included.
