At 8 months, B:
1) has developed separation axiety,
2) sits very firmly now,
3) leopard crawls rather quickly,
4) is trying to pull himself up to a stand,
5) can pick up small pieces of baby bites and gerber stars to feed himself,
6) is able to lean towards the person he wants to have carry him,
7) pulls at the back of his high chair constantly,
8) fights you when you try to feed him water,
9) blows bubbles in a cup of water but not in the swimming pool,
10) able to glide underwater for 2 seconds
Just last week, B had roseola infantum. It's also known as false measles or three-day fever.
He had a fever for three days (yup, hence the name). It wasn't bad. Went up to max of 38.6 degrees. That was Monday to Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, I was greeted by this sight.
In the afternoon, he looked like that. :(
On Friday, the rash developed all over his body.
By Saturday, his face had cleared but his lower jaw and body still had the rash. Finally, on Sunday, he was much better. Apparently this is like chicken pox and measles. Most children get it once and then they will be immuned to it henceforth. Well, I am just glad it's over and K didn't get it from B.
He is all happy now. Actually, he was still quite cheerful despite the fever and rash. I think it was I who was rather worried over the fever and then upset over the rash. Parents. I guess that is just what we do. Worry.
