More skirts for K

Decided that K needed more skirts. Those that would actually cover some of her thighs, instead of just her butt. I finally made two from the fabric stash that has been sitting in my fabric drawer, waiting to be transformed into something useful.

This one took me a while to do. I basically had an idea what I wanted it to look like and just went ahead to make it. Trial and error.

This one is a circular skirt, following Lorraine's skirt cheat sheet. Nice, I like but I think only some fabric can be used to make this. Those that actually are not too stiff. Anyway, K really likes this one but it's not like she can twirl it to see its effects yet.

Very nice, Van! Especially like the spotty cloth for the gathered skirt! I usually do my circular skirts either in some sheer thin fabric (like silk or chiffon) like for dance. Otherwise I do half-circle skirts (i.e. half a donut) because they don't weigh down little bodies as much. So you're totally right - the fabric matters a lot. And I cheat by using Fold-over elastic so the waistband is snug. I've searched Singapore and found it hard to find FOE, so the next best alternative is that maternity elastic (the kind with buttonholes in it). Can buy at spotlight. Just fold it in half along the buttonholes, and sandwich the waist edge as if you were doing bias binding, and stretch the elastic (but not the cloth) and zig zag it straight on. Very easy!
