Jan 2011 updates

It has been a while since my last entry. Some updates needed.

P has been around at home for the last two months which has been great. He gets to spend more time with B than he ever did in the last 7 months. He will start work at the new place after CNY so we have about two weeks left of more time together. Yay.

K has been a good girl most days lately. We think she needs to know B isn't taking up all my time and attention. I've been more mindful about spending time with her. When we dun oversleep on weekdays, I realize she likes to cuddle and chat. I enjoy those moments with her before we all rush into the day and go about getting things done.

The first of her molars have finally made its appearance. We noticed it only on 16 Jan. Hurrah. Hopefully it would help her chew her food faster.

We bought her to the Animal Resort again. The last time she was there, she claimed that she was attacked and bitten by chickens and cried really hard. She also said she never wanted to go back there. This time was such an improvement. She patted and fed some goslings!

In school, she has been exposed to the letters of the alphabet. She is slowly beginning to recognise some letters and is also learning to recognise some simple words. This is both for English and Chinese. She has also started to write some letters (like the letters A and I). We try to encourage her to do that at home too.

Brought her swimming 3 times last week. She ain't so afraid of having her face under water now. She enjoys swimming. I think it helps that B joins us too. She loves playgrounds. We have been bringing her to the one at my parents' place since the two nearest to our place are under renovation. We also ventured to the next cluster last weekend.

We started B with swim lessons. Wanted to do that before he developed stranger anxiety. He likes it, some of the time. I believe the heated pool has helped a great deal. Am sure people would wonder at the need for a heated pool in SG. Well, some pools are freezing. Even I have a problem with them! Didn't want him to have to overcome so many factors all at once.

B has been more active. He is a wriggly worm when we try to change him. He vocalizes his displeasure with no uncertainty. He is better with nursing now, tho' there are still moments when he would complain about having to drink milk. I now only feed him when he is sleepy. He is able to rollover both ways, back to front and front to back. Yesterday (26 Jan) he leopard crawled towards his toy.

Sadly, he isn't turning out to be the enthusiastic and big eater I had hoped he would be. He doesn't enjoy his food much still. However, his favourite are mangoes. He also likes brown rice porridge. Sometimes.

B got to sit on a rocking dinosaur and on a slide last weekend for the first time.
