B is 3 months old

B is 3 months old. Already. How time flies. 5.9kg. 59cm. 25-50th percentile. He's not as chubby as K was but he definitely has a few folds.

He is a real sweetheart. He has captured the hearts of his grandparents. He smiles and coos at them. He tries to talk to them and can sometimes carry out a "conversation" for a good 5 minutes.

He's definitely more aware of his surroundings now and is very curious to check out new environments. He would watch me while in his cot as I walk around his cot putting laundry into his chest of drawers and packing his room. He'd then get upset when I walk away. It's almost like he's following me with his eyes to ensure I'm not going too far away.

He has found his full head of soft curly hair. When he's tired and sucking on his pacifier or when he's feeding, he'd always use one hand to rub his hair. That's something that K used to do too.

He smiles all the time.

He loves it and chuckles when I sit up him on my lap and hold his arms and support his little wobbly head while I rock him gently to Row, row, row your boat. He also laughs out loud when we support his torso and let him "jump" on his tiny feet. He still doesn't like tummy time.

He averages 6-7 feeds a day and has started sleeping through the night. For a few weeks now, he'd go to bed for the day at about 8-9pm. I'd wake him up for his last feed at about midnight and he'd sleep till about 7am the next morning. Well done little one. Thank you for letting mummy sleep through the night.

I've also stopped his meds for his suspected reflux problem. Tho' the last few days when I fed him, he was able to take both the sweet and the yuky one without crying in the mornings.

He has a new pose which he does very often. A kungfu pose. :)

Oh yes, I applied for his passport today. Yay! We can go travelling soon!

A shocker.

P worked late last night. So I was left to handle B and K. I'm getting used to managing both of them now.

After a LOOOONG dinner, B had to be attended to so I told K to play by herself in her room for a while and I'd join her. Fed B and put him to bed. Then I went over to K's room. She was amusing herself with a pair of kiddy scissors, a ruler and a bookmark. I decided to watch her. I sat on her bed and jumped up immediately. It was cold and wet.

I looked at K and asked her if she had peed on it. She replied that she did. I asked why she didn't tell me that she needed to and even after making a mess, why she didn't tell me about it. She said she wanted to do it quick. Like, huh?

Resolved not to be upset with an accident, I told her calmly to go wash up with me. In the toilet, I was going to give her a quick shower but discovered that her undies were completely dry.......

We now have a naughty corner in our house.

Dad and the kids

Nice one of dad and K. B looks like a girl here, especially because of the necklace, courtesy of big sister.

Nice one of B smiling. 80% commented that B looks like P. 20% that he looks like K.

Our goddaughter.

Cocomallow

I'm thinking about K's birthday in Dec. First of all, there is the cake. I'm looking at two recipes. One seems easy enough but need to know if it's edible. It's super sinful to say the least but I think the kids might like it.

First of all, you microwave the entire packet of marshmallows (large) along with some butter. Or if you are like me and want to be anal about following instructions more specific, you would count 40 of them. I mean, you never know how many the different brands come in!

You mix the mixture which looks surprisingly like batter well.

Then you enthusiastically pour in a whole bag of coco pops.

And stir some more. I was a little freaked out at how the mixture started looking like bugs stuck in a spider web.

Then you press the mixture into a tin and have an eager beaver put on the spinkles.

Tada! Not too bad.

Look at the happy beaver. Who was eating the sprinkles off the floor and stool.

Here is the finished product which we distributed to the kids in church. We had to save our waistlines! They were gone in a jiffy. Good. A very probable option. And inexpensive one too, considering the ingredients. Hurray for Coco Pops.

Teachers' Day 2010

The plan was to be simple and meaningful.

So got these craft thingys for K to do for the teachers who taught her. She chose the design for each teacher.

Teacher Julia

Zhou Lao Shi

Teacher Gladys

Liu Lao Shi

And we made little cards to go along with the above pressies.

Then I found someone who made these and ordered them.

K helped to wrap the pressies and presented them to each teacher herself. We are very thankful for most of her teachers who have been very patient and caring towards her. Especially for Liu Lao Shi who practically helped her settle into a routine in school and made sure she ate her greens and had her toilet trained in school! Three cheers for K's teachers. God bless them all.
