And she says.......Jeju

As a child, I never liked dolls. I was a soft toy kinda kid. I especially didn't like the barbie type of dolls.....the kind where the eyes closed when it slept and opened when upright. And there was something about the hair that I didn't like either. But that is not to say that those who did are weird or that the world is more strange because of the dolls. I just didn't like playing with them. They gave me the creeps. But you are normal if you like them.

HOWEVER, just so that I do not skew my daughter in the same dislike as myself, she does have one doll at the moment. It was her birthday pressie from a friend. She hasn't warmed up to it yet. From the occasional reminder of finger pointing along with the words "baby", we know that she knows it sits at the corner of her bed along with her other stuffed toys. She also does grab hold of her foot from time to time and smile. I'm still trying to get her to understand that it's a doll and not a baby.

Perhaps it's to overcompensate for my dislike of dolls, I have been trying to hunt down rag dolls. In stores (ready made) and online (to make). I've watched some videos online and seen some tutorials. But since I hadn't bought the necessary materials, I decided to come up with my own version of.....no, not a doll but a stuffed toy. An ugly toy. Those you see in stores or online that are sold at ridiculously high prices? Ah...yes. One of those. Who knows. Perhaps I would get so good at them that I could sell those ugly toys and Peen and I would never have to work another day of our lives! Ha.

I managed to complete my first one in one day but over two sessions. It was rather easy to do except for attaching the stuffed legs to the body. Hence, one of the legs sort of looks dislocated from the body. When I showed it to Peen, he really liked it and has since claimed it for his own. And says that I should make another one for Kimmy instead. And he's even named it!!! Jeju. It's one of the words that Kim used to say repeatedly which Peen thought was really cute. That is how my first Ugly got its name.

So, please meet Jeju.

I guess Peen should keep his day job. :)
