Here is a recent photo of the family. And when I say recent, I really mean 3 months ago. You know how it is, there just never seems to be an occasion or the camera is missing or just some reason or other.

Stick stick stick them all....oh but where?
In view of K's report from school on one of her exercises (positioning of her own facial features), I stumbled upon some of these interesting stickers books in Popular. Since she loved stickers and animals, I thought it would be fun for her to learn the positioning of body parts of animals.
Here is her first attempt:
I must say that the cow and rabbit look slightly crazed. I love the horse (top right). He must be admiring the rainbow in the sky. The sheep looks like he's got pink growths on his face!
Her second attempt:
Much better. Love the dancing giraffe.
Her third attempt:
They look more normal now, save the turtle with rock-like growths on his shell and giant lips but oh the lips aren't her fault really.

K's E-Folio Report from 2009 (June to Dec)
This was K's school report for Jun to Dec 2009. Have taken such a long time to post about this as I have finally gotten myself a scanner! Which means I can scan all her work and then post them here. Yay. I feel rather liberated. Been wanting to do this for a while now.
This we found rather hilarious. She needs more work. She currently looks like lao fu zi with one eyebrow and a distorted mouth and nose!
This often amazes many parents when they see her feed herself. They have just been deceived by her small frame.
We have been told that she is able to sit and concentrate on her tasks for quite a long time.

She enjoys being with her friends and would often talk about them.
She loves singing and moving to music. She also hums the songs and likes to change the lyrics of
songs.
This was the report from the Chinese teacher. There were more artwork but are too huge to scan.

Be careful what you say. It will come back to you.
After K had her dinner last night, her doting grandparents took out a cup of jelly with some jelly balls in it. As she was eating it, my dad asked her if it was nice. She nodded her head very slightly. Unconvinced, my dad asked again. She responded in the same manner. So I said to her, say, "Yes, Gong Gong."
She replied, "Cannot talk and eat."

Conversations with K
Aunty in lift
We were on our way to my parents' place for dinner on Tuesday. As we entered the lift, another lady came in. K suddenly said, "Aunty got ........." I couldn't really make out what she said so I asked her to repeat herself. Again, she muttered something which I didn't understand. Finally, the lady stepped out of the lift and I asked her again. She said, "Aunty got big.... (she used her hand to cover the bottom part of her face)...mouth!"
Oh dear. I was both shocked and amused at the same time. It is time to teach K that it could possibly be miscontrued as being rude. Boy was I thankful that I only asked the second time when the lady had left.
Neighbour's rabbit
We would usually walk by this particular unit when we make our way to our car in the carpark. Tue was no exception. After we got out of the lift, we walked by this same household and realised that there was a cage in there. K immediately took an interest and wanted to see what was in it. It was a rabbit but I told her it was very rude to be looking into someone else's house so we hurried along.
When in the car with my mum, she suddenly said, "Rabbit in cage." My mum asked her where. She replied, "Neighbour." My mum understanding that she had seen a rabbit in a cage at a neighbour's house asked her if she had played with it. She replied emphatically, "No...it is not a toy!"
Mum didn't know whether to laugh or be offended with the tone.
Concessions for mummy
K has recently started playing with her doll Gracie again. She would make me sit with her for up to an hour, just feeding Gracie, burping her and patting her to sleep. I got bored after sometime so when she asked me to feed Gracie with the milk bottle, I would pretend to drink it for myself instead. This usually provokes a reaction, "No Mummy!!!! Not for you! For Gracie ok?"
Of course, being rather thick I would stare blankly at her and repeat the same action when again, requested to feed the doll. She would tell me once again most exasperated that it wasn't meant for me. Sometimes, just to see what she would do, I would also pretend to gobble down the whole bottle, to which she would shout in horror, "No eating mummy! It is just a toy!" Haha.
Other times, looking slightly hurt and sad, I would tell her that I was hungry too. And almost as if she had given up on me, she would say, "Just a little bit, ok? Then it's Gracie's turn."
I love playing with her and watching her react to silly things I do.
